Here's my first card (sneak peek #3):
The flowers and leaves from SIMPLE FLORALS
were stamped with Ranger Archival Ink in French Ultramine on watercolor
paper and watercolored using Distress Inks. I stamped the sentiment
from FRIGGIN FABULOUS
with Versamark and heat embossed it using white embossing powder. I
took black cardstock and added splatters of white and gold inks, fussy
cut the flowers and leaves and arranged them onto the cardstock using
foam tape for dimension. I finished it off with some Matte Gold and Princess Pink sequins.
This is my second card (sneak peek #10):
For this card, I took the word "awesome" from FRIGGIN FABULOUS and stamped it in Hero Arts Black dye ink on white cardstock to create a fun background. I took the flowers and leaves from SIMPLE FLORALS and with some masking, I stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it on vellum using white embossing powder. I watercolored with Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pens, which were so fun and easy to use! I added a sentiment from THANKS A BUNCH and the heart from PANDAS CAN'T EVEN on a die-cut tag. I added pink twine and attached it below the floral arrangements, much like a tag you see when you receive gifts!
And, I made another card introducing the amazing peony set, FRESH CUT PEONIES.
The trick to finding the right colors for layering stamps is, well, to practice different combinations! For these peonies, I used Mama Elephant's Piggy Bank, Memento's Rose Bud and Stampin' Up's Melon Mambo (from lightest to darkest shades). I stamped the leaves in Stampin' Up's Old Olive and Mossy Meadow and stamped the vase in a gray dye ink (sorry, I can't even remember which one!) and used a craft knife to cut inside of it. I wanted to create a shaker card and fill it with Glass Slippers sequins. The peonies were fussy cut and arranged over the stem and leaves using the foam tape for dimension. I added the sentiment "miss you so much" from a sassy sentiment set, IT'S CRAY CRAY.
The peony set comes with a tutorial on the website. :-)
Remember to leave comments on all three blogs, letting us know what stamp set is your favorite and what card is your favorite at each stop! Thanks so much!
