You Make Me Smile

Quick post featuring these adorable monsters from Monsters Ink and using the new Pretty Pink Posh Pocket Border Die. Honestly, I had no idea where I was going with this card and it just came together like this eventually. Haha. :-)

Don't forget to check out my giveaway post! Have a great Friday and weekend, friends!

Stars and Heroes + GIVEAWAY

Long post ahead plus giveaway details at the end. Today, I'm sharing cards I created using Mama Elephant's most recent release: Tiny Heroes and Shooting Star. Aren't they adorable? It took me a long time to just color all the characters with Copic markers and finally some cards came together. I still have a lot of the pieces left, which means I can make more cards later! Yay!

I think I struggle most with coloring skin and hair. I did take Copic Markers for Cardmakers by Online Card Classes but didn't get to practice as much yet.

I used distress inks to create these backgrounds.

For the background above, I used Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, and Victorian Velvent.

For this background, I used Squeezed Lemonade, Victorian Velvet, and Shaded Lilac.

My inspiration for all of these cards came from the recent Mama Elephant stampede/release from their design team. So much fun!! These are the cards I created with Tiny Heroes:

I added sequins that matched the gorgeous backgrounds. I will link to all the colors below.

And here are the cards I created using Shooting Star stamp set.

I love the contrast of the background for this one.

Aren't those sequin colors gorgeous?!? I love how they match the background and the girl's dress.

Yes, I decided to go with pink clouds. They came out so cute. Love, love love!

Everything goes with black. This soft pink is out of this world!!!

Ohmagawd, even I'm amazed at how this background came out. I added Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink Spray and MFT Mix-Ables Sheer Shimmer Mist to add more pop. What do you think??

She's like me - just sitting in the clouds, lost in thought. ;-) I know, I know. Generally, people make and post one card. I don't even get to take pictures of all the cards I create, but February will be an extremely busy month for me so I'm getting as many done now as I can while I have my creativity in full mode.

All the sequins I used were from The Ton. They carry A LOT of colors so do check them out! Sequins are available in 4mm-10mm and mix sized packages as well. Colors I used included: Matte GoldMy Tutu, Bermuda Blue, Light Amethyst, Light Plum, Pixie Pink, and Yellow Belly. More will be coming to the site soon. Be sure to check in on Monday for our small blog hop and another giveaway sponsored by The Ton

They have exclusive mixes in stock as well. The Gala Invitation Couture Mix

Planner Essentials

My last DT post for the week is featuring the planner stamp set Scheduled by The Ton, which has a nice inline font type. Please visit their blog, share with friends, and spread some love! Feel free to use the social media icons at the bottom of this entry to share/repost!  ♡ ♡

It is available for pre-order and anticipated ship date is February 1, 2015.

Now, before you read ahead, I have to say that I'm new to using planners in this fashion. I've used agendas before but never have I used stickers and stamps to decorate a planner. I didn't even realize there was a whole planner community! Here's the Erin Condren Life Planner I was given as a RAK (random act of kindness). You can click on the pictures to get a closer look.

My planner essentials:

I use the ECLP for work and school, the middle gold one as a gratitude journal (another gift to me), and the thin black one (for a dollar from Target!) for keeping track of card challenges and design team calls/deadlines. The sparkly pens on the bottom left are from PenGems and are gorgeous!

Planner stickers are from different retailers, including @theresetgirl on Instagram.

So let's open the planner now and see how I used my planner supplies.

I think the font type is adorable. The icons are fun. It's pretty cool to set aside some time just to plan out your week. This is actually my practice planner since I'm still trying to figure out what system works best for me.

Scheduled includes icons to keep track of your daily water intake, for common errands, and even ones to create your own lists. I used the hearts inside the small boxes and the arrows on the left side of my planner page. You can keep track of your daily meals as well. I think my favorite icon is the one for the cell phone. You know we use that daily! ;-)

I would love for you to visit The Ton blog and leave them some comments. They are available on TwitterFacebookPinterest, and Instagram. Please SUBSCRIBE for details! We have a small blog hop scheduled for Monday, February 2. Do stop by for a chance to win an amazing prize package.

Happy crafting, my friends!
