You're Amazing

I have a post today featuring The Ton's first cling rubber stamp called Peony Background. It's such a gorgeous, unique stamp that is big enough to cover A2 size cards. It is slightly bigger so you can decide how you want to center it since it has solid and outline peonies on it. 

For these cards, I used my MISTI to stamp the background with VersaMark ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder and coral embossing powder (Stampin Up Calypso Coral, has been discontinued now) for the second one. Look how gorgeous it looks! I love that sheen! 

The banner is from My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Fishtail Flag Stax and the "You're Amazing" stamp is from Papertrey Ink's Doodlie-Do. I added foam tape behind banner and attached some vellum behind it before taping it down the center of the card. 

Here's the card with the coral embossing. I did the same exact things but just used a different color for the background. The card looks more beautiful in person! 

A comparison of both. You can create a bunch of these quickly as a gift set. They are classy and feminine. 

Of course, I have matching envelopes. :)

PTI Anniversary Challenge Day 8: Blue Ombre

Papertrey Ink's Day 8 Challenge asked us to create a blue ombre look however we wanted it to be, whether in a sentiment, background, in images, etc. I decided to go with a sky background using different blue distress inks. Colors included Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky, and Chipped Sapphire.

I think it came out gorgeous! I love creating these. I used their Zappy Birthday stamps and dies and Mama Elephant's Tiny Heroes. The beautiful blue sequins around the card can be found at The Ton.

PTI Anniversary Challenge Day 7: Heavy Metal

For day 6, there was no card challenge. Papertrey Ink's Day 7 Challenge asked us to incorporate metal into our creation. That made me think of Ranger's Liquid Platinum embossing powder! If you don't already know, I LOVE this Big Hugs set. The sentiments with it are so sweet. I heat embossed a large square on white card stock and use the Big Hugs die to cut out the word. I used sequins from The Ton.

PTI Anniversary Challenge Day 3: Gift Tags

Papertrey Ink's Day 3 Challenge asked us to create matching tags with gift bags. I don't have any gift bag but I took a plain gift box with a birthday present inside and added some colorful twine to it. Here's one of the tags I came up with:

And, of course, since inspiration comes and goes, I decided to make a bunch of tags and bookmarks while I was at it. :) I LOVE this bookmark die and the basic bookmark 3 die. They can still be used as tags, right?! I'll be giving these to friends with gifts. :) I played around with so many different stamp sets: Big Hugs, The Sweet Life, Mehndi Medallions Mini, Wet Paint, Wet Paint III, and Movers & Shakers Sentiments. I bought the tassels from this Etsy shop.

PTI Anniversary Challenge Day 1: DT Inspiration

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 8th anniversary this year with daily challenges this month leading to their February release countdown until release day, which is the 15th. I am so excited! I did find some time to create a few cards and am showing you the one I made using this sketch and color combo:

Roses Galore

Who doesn't love flowers?! When I saw The Sweet Life by Papertrey Ink, I knew I had to have it (sounds like every other set I have lol). I tried to work with sets that involve stamping multiple times to get a finished image of a rose or other flower, but it's always failed! This is one of the easier sets to work with, in my opinion (and happy that it has coordinating dies!) I spent some time just figuring out what color combinations worked for some of the flowers. I have a lot of inks, but compared to many experienced crafters, it's obviously not enough! ;-)

The sets I used for the sentiments were from Wet Paint and Signature Greetings. I needed those, too. ;-)

The colors that worked for the pink roses from bottom layer to top: Mama Elephant Piggy Bank, Memento Rose Bud, and Stampin' Up Melon Mambo. No need to buy these exact ones because other colors will work -- just practice until you get a look you're satisfied with!

The colors that worked for the orange roses from bottom layer to top: Hero Arts Shadow Ink Soft Cantaloupe, Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie, and Stampin' Up Tangelo Twist. 

I didn't want to bore you with an individual image of each card, nor did I want to post a separate entry for each one. Here are some of my favorites:

I definitely plan on trying different color combinations, techniques, and thinking outside the box for these sets! For now, I really needed some quick thank-you, birthday, and hello cards for friends! Blessed to have SO MANY friends and especially ones who appreciate and support my work!

I think I ended up with about 21-24. I lost count because my creative mojo kicked in and I made so many cards in a whole week!!
